Many of you have been writing me wanting to know what’s going on with my household soap opera regarding me & TC (My 2000 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan). Well, it has been dicey around here to say the least. TC keeps trying to force my hand so that I will take him to the mechanic, whom I am absolutely sure he is having an affair with. TC is blowing hot air all the time now and making lots of squeaking and squealing noises, never giving me a moments peace. It’s been such a demanding Summer and it?s not even over. As of today I have had 54 performances since May alone! That’s a lot of traveling. However, driving to all of my concerts every week has been down right blistering hot and painful. TC won?t allow my seat to position me ergonomically anymore so when I get out of the car after the long trip home from one of my events I can barely walk without screaming my back hurts so much.
It?s really frustrating because after my fantasy dalliance with Traverse at Blogher, I had resolved to really put myself fully into my existing relationship with TC, despite the lure of new leather. Economically it’s really hard for anyone to get a separation and forge out into the new World in search of greener pastures these days. Plus, Traverse is such a young buck it would cost a lot of money for me to enter into that relationship solidly, even with the governments’ incentive program cash for clunkers.
Add to that my children, who were at first on the side of me and Traverse, have been lured back to TC?s family at Chrysler with their new table available in the 2009 model. I am really caught between a rock and a hard place! In order to make a change, I really have to convince my children that divorcing TC and the Chrysler family would be good for our family. A hard sell on speck.
Now my plight is truly urgent, as I have come to the proverbial fork in the road. Next week my family and I are scheduled to leave on an 11 day East Coast driving adventure. I have some events to appear at, meetings to attend and relatives to consort with in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. I don?t get vacations they are always laced with work, but since we are driving we are really trying to make the most of our time and see as many people and things as possible. With that I need to have a working car with AC & all. TC has backed me into a corner. Since I haven’t been able to convince my children that Traverse will treat us right and be a great partner, not only for me but for our whole family, I have no choice but to buckle to TC’s pressure. I will have to give in and let TC go and see his lover, the mechanic. Once I spend the money for TC’s affair I will no longer have enough money to get out of this damaged relationship. I am at TC’s mercy. Oh agony! After all we’ve been through I can?t believe that TC is dog this to me. I really thought TC would want me to be happy and safe. Now I see that TC is just completely selfish, but there?s nothing I can do. I just can?t afford to be rescued by Traverse, my knight with shiny leather.
SMILE On!
