Miss Lori asks, “Do you believe in magic?”

Do you believe in magic? I do. I started believing in magic the minute I discovered the theatre. And my most magical moment in my life was when I was 14. Sitting on the edge of the stage at the Pabst Theatre singing the opening of the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I played the Narrator. My first lead role ever. It was such an intimate moment in a show that is an explosion of color and sound. I remember it like it was yesterday. I actually even remember all of the words.

Every child should have magic in their lives.

That’s a big part of why I do what I do with Miss Lori’s CAMPUS. I love to help children explore their sense of wonder and find that little piece of magic that will stay with them, lighting their dreams for many years to come. The arts can do that. Which is why I find it so devastating that arts education has been cut across the boards in my children’s lives.

Want to put some magic in your child’s life, take them to a show, a symphony, a museum. Let them see first hand what the imagination can really do, and just what dreams look like realized on Earth.

SMILE On!
