Back from the Disney Social Media Moms Conference, and now for the real work; POSTS

Miss Lori at Day 3 of the 2010 Disney Social Media Moms ConferenceWe are back from our whirlwind trip to Disney World and the Disney Social Media Moms conference. I am bone tired, but for good reason. So much happened that it is going to take me weeks to recap it all. And not just recap, I need to muse about some great thoughts and conversations that came out of my interactions with the phenomenal participants and speakers at the event. Such as, “What does ‘Princess’ mean, to Disney and to you?” I’m very excited about the posts to come. You can get preliminary exposure to some of my video highlights on both of my youtube channels, MissLoridotTV and MissLorisCAMPUS, and, soon to come, my Whrrl stories. In the meantime, I can tell you my best and worst right now. Best; spending an hour with Chris Brogan coming back with my kids back from Epcot to the hotel. Such an amazing conversationalist. My worst; not getting to take my kids on the “It’s a Small World” ride or to any of the live shows. There just wasn’t enough time.

Thank you to the speakers, Guy Kawasaki, Chris Brogan, Maxine Clark, Marissa J Winokur and Kathy Ireland. Thank you Maryellen Hooper for your comic stylings, eventhough you did call me out on the carpet during your set. Thank you Tom Staggs Chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts,  and Michelle Nunn, CEO of Points of Light Institute and co-founder of of Hands on Network, for taking the time to talk to me personally in the midst of the volunteerism celebration. Thank you Disney stars Roshan, Dan, and Alyson, as well as Cameron of All Star Weekend for allowing my children to interact with you like people instead of fans. Thank you Leanne and the entire Disney Social Media crew for including me in this AWESOME opportunity, (and especially for making sure there was some protein for me to eat at breakfast). Lastly, thank you to my Mom for suffering sibling squabbles and demands to take care of my kids in Disney while I was away at conference events That’s LOVE.

SMILE On!
