Day 3 of Miss Lori’s #Blogbaskets giveaways at Blogher with 1800Baskets

Morning Everyone. Ar you here just to see me? Nooooo! You’re here because you want some more 1800Baskets gift Baskets aren’t you? Well, of course you are. And I don’t blame you. So enough with the small talk let’s get to the rules for today’s giveaway. We had such an amazing conversation on my facebook fanpage yesterday I wanted to have a similar one here for all the WORLD to see. (LOL!). So the contest is about conversation. We’re going to talk creatively about giftbaskets. I want to hear your ideas about what kind of fantastical, (now I know I made that one up!), gift baskets you would love to see available and what AWESOME names you would have for them. And I don’t just want you to post your ideas. I want you to feed off of other peoples ideas as well, comment, add to, improve, whatever! Let’s brainstorm together. Then at the end of this day, 10pm ET, today Friday August 6, we’ll see who has contributed the most to the conversation and they will win. Clear and simple. What will they win? Cue the curtain…

Bountiful Sweets Gift Basket

(Retail Value $89.99)

Commenting here isn’t the only way to win something today. I will also be tweeting and facebooking (is that even a word?), some random prize opportunities as well. So make sure you are a fan of Miss Lori and are following me on Twitter so you can check in throughout the day. I’ll be using the hashtags #MLBH and #BlogBaskets on my Blogher gifting adventure so you should too. The most important rule though is that you have FUN!  Because that’s what gifts and gifting should be. FUN! And 1800Baskets totally gets it.

SMILE On!

Oh Sarina! Sleepovers! Yea, that’s good and it could hit a whole new area too. There could be a little girl one and a little boy one for their first ever sleepover or a teenage one to include all the little mini spa treats. What do you think? The sleepover series, ages 6-8, etc. and teens.

haha we love baskets! Having a job doing this would be amazing for sure. To the bridesmaid one, I would also add maybe some champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.

I think your bed-related one could work! It could be a sleepover themed basket :)

I see the timestamps say 8:50-something, but it’s actually 9:56, right? Only four more minutes ’til this is over, right? I have to admit that I really enjoyed this. I’ve never done anything like this before. I love hanging out with you Robin! BTW: Do you have a blog? Your name isn’t a linky… Have a great weekend everyone.

Sarina, those are great ideas. I love the bridesmaids one so that made me think of a bridal shower or new bride one. Great idea of adding the stuffed squirrel to nuts about you. Hey, I think they should hire us to develop ideas. We rock, right? :-D

I don’t know why I didn’t think of the baker’s one ’cause my teen daughter is a baking fanatic – good one Sarina.

Yes, Sweet Dreams! That’s perfect! … I think you would be great at designing baskets. I could be your contracted idea swapper. :-) I’m glad you like the PYT idea… just don’t ask how/why I came up with it.

I want one of these too, Robin. I’ve never received one. You send me one then I’ll send you one? LOL

lol so many creative juices flowing! I have a new one: a bridesmaid basket for all of your bridesmaids at a wedding! I’d include lotions, soaps, sugar scrubs, chocolates, and a disposable camera (to capture all the wedding-related moments).

I LOVE Robin’s I’m nuts about you idea. I’d even include a squirrel toy in there to go with the theme hehe..or add a balloon + candied apple covered in nuts!

Another idea: for the bakers! I’d put it all in a mixing pot and wrap it – cookbooks, sugar, chocolate chips, cupcake mix, cake mix, sprinkles, cinnamon, vanilla extract, scone mix, measuring cups, whisk, etc etc.! I’d call it “You’re Bakin Me Crazy!”

Last one I promise :) A BBQ basket! Rubs, oils, grilling tools, cook book, skewers, corn on the cob holders.

This was a really fun discussion! I love everyone’s ideas. Petula and Robin had some great ones.

I am at a real disadvantage here…I’ve been the lucky recipient of the wonderful baskets created by the 1800Baskets design team. It’s hard for me to imagine any way to improve upon what they present. Other than personalizing the contents based on the recipients’ tastes (sweet/savory, crunchy/smooth) or hobbies (such as golf), I am at a loss to make a suggestion. These gift baskets are truly incredible–sure to delight anyone/everyone.
p.s. @Lexiquin tried to get in on your twitter giveaway today but I was at someone else’s house–took me awhile to get comfortable on her laptop (didn’t want to be rude either).
    Thanks for the giveaway!

Yea, Robin, we need some others to join in. I think we’re monopolizing the conversation. LOL

I have a couple of more ideas, but I think they’re a little off the wall. Like, I don’t know how to word this, but a “congratulations on your new bed.” LOL… it could include sheets, blanket, pillowcases, satchets, shames, you know stuff like that. A book to enjoy while in bed. Some PJs. Is that silly?

LOL! Robin, no, that’s not my ex… I was thinking it was yours. ROFL… My goodness you have me cracking up over here. So… James? Are you gonna tell us what that comment meant. Maybe he was saying that we should add a ” let’s try again basket” … like the divorce one, but opposite.

Hey, that gave me an idea. What about a will you marry me basket? Of course the ring and maybe a bunch of memorabilia that symbolizes the relationship like postcards from places they’ve visited, favorite foods, secret messages, love letters. IDK… What do you guys think?

You’re right there have been some good ideas. I like the doggie/pet one.

Okay, I bet this is one you didn’t think of. Congratulations on finding your PYT …it’s for the Cougar. Okay, I’m going to leave that alone ’cause now I’m just being silly.

Here’s another one just for the guys.

Do an “I’m Nuts About You” basket. I know my guy would would love it. Add some spicy nuts, sweet nuts, roasted nuts, a nice variety of types and flavors. Get the peanuts in the shell, macadamias, cashews, whatever. And add something sweet (‘cuz in the end, they’re just like us girls with the sweet/salty thing!) and a couple of bottles of his favorite soda.

Oh, how about a new pet basket! I’m watching my pitbull trying to destroy a new chew bone that I got her today and it made me think about a gift basket.

You could call it the “Congrats on Your New Furry Addition” basket. This is an easy one. Add chew toys, high end puppy treats, dental bones, one of those little warming pillows that you put in the microwave, a cute leash and collar (choose by the sex of the dog to make it personal), a container of training treats, a clicker for training, a cute doggie blanket for the floor or kennel and a book about puppies especially if they got a specific breed. If they adopted the dog from a shelter, make them up a “Good Citizen” or “Congrats for Being so Politically Correct” certificate!
