Here in Chicago one of the definitive signs that Winter is on its’ way is when our famed Buckingham Fountain goes dark. That happened this week. But never fear, the fountain may have gone dark but my 2012-2013 Winter WTTW PBS Kids Readers are Leaders Tour will be lights up this Thursday October 18th. I will commence my 5th season of original Miss Lori’s CAMPUS Playstory Time performances at the Great Grand Crossing branch of the Chicago Public Libraries. I am thrilled to be returning to the Library system because as a mother of three school-age children myself I am keenly aware of the value that libraries bring to the lives of kids and their families. It is my honor to contribute interactive content that enhances the quality of our libraries. But I won’t just be at libraries this season with WTTW, I will also return for the third year to the Harlem and Irving Park Plaza starting Thursday October 25th at 1030am. As always at my HIP performances I will be joined by a very special PBS character guest for my finale number who will gladly stay around to pose for pictures, as I do, with fans following the performance.
There will be many more exciting venues coming in 2013 including Navy Pier, The Field Museum and The DuPage Children’s Museum to name a few thanks to dedicated sponsors like Carl Buddig & CO and presenting sponsor Aldi. Stay tuned to the Miss Lori’s CAMPUS Facebook fanpage for announcements in real time. You can also view the gallery of “Squeazy Pictures” I take with my fans of all ages.

My WTTW Reader are Leaders Tour will definitely keep me busy, but not too busy to perform other concerts around the city. In fact I will be out in full force in honor of Halloween. First with a Halloween Fairytale Fest at the North Riverside Park Mall, Saturday, October 27th from 830am to 10am. The CAMPUS Kids will be on hand to help me entertain all of the princes, princesses, ghosts, goblins and superheroes who will be in attendance. They will also aid in the creation of some AWESOME Halloween art projects at our crafts table. But the fun won’t stop when the music does. North Riverside Park Mall is offering a special free airing of Shrek the movie following the concert festivities at 1030am.
Then on Sunday, October 28th The CAMPUS Kids and I will head to the Daley “Franken” Plaza for a 315pm ChicagoWeen concert. We are very excited to make this return performance having first appeared at the city’s spooktacular event 2 years ago. Dress for the weather, but prepare to heat up with all of the dancing you will be doing with the CAMPUS Kids and me. Because you know, Miss Lori’s CAMPUS Concerts are anything but docile.
The calendar is filling but we are taking Miss Lori’s CAMPUS bookings through 2013 right now. Yes, no rest for me! After performing over 45 concerts this past Summer all over Chicagoland including National Train Day in the Great Hall of Union Station. Since we stayed close to home this Summer the CAMPUS kids are overdue for a road trip. We have previously performed in Florida, Ohio, and Wisconsin. We would love to add more states to our photo album. Have an event in mind that you would like to have us perform at? Here, there, or anywhere? Don’t be shy, let me know. My scheduling team is happy to consult about all types of bookings from state fairs to book fairs to school fairs. From zoos, to parks, to malls. Just contact them. They love to create electric family events of all sizes, and I love to perform at them. Everybody wins!
See you on the dance floor!
