Miss Lori starts Summer early with her WTTW PBS Kids Concerts

I can’t believe that I have been performing Miss Lori’s CAMPUS concert tours for WTTW PBS Kids for six years. It feels like yesterday when Mister Brandon and I performed our first Great Food Fan Van performance together at a Sunset Foods. Now 100’s of shows later here we are embarking on our sixth season of free live productions for the Chicagoland area, and I couldn’t be more proud. As a mother of three myself I know how hard it is in today’s economy to find enriching entertainment for my family. It hurts you to your core as a parent when you feel like you are not able to give your children the absolute best. That’s why my free family concert tours with WTTW PBS Kids, made possible by some great sponsors like Aldi, Organic Valley and Traditional Medicinals, are so vital. And make no mistake they are family concerts. I am not a babysitter. Parents don’t get to come to my events and leave their kids down front while they cluster in the back “coffee clutching”. No, No, No! I am not above heckling parents into participation, because as important as it is to provide entertainment for our kids it is equally important to participate in that enrichment. I believe that it is our job as parents to lead by example, demonstrating to our children that you can be happy and healthy at any age or stage in life. Parents get plenty of chances to put their moves where their lessons are as my concerts are all about the physicalization of the imagination. No sitting and listening with Miss Lori. We move, groove and grow…TOGETHER!

Summer is coming early in Chicago as we have already had our first of 40 special free events that I will headline for WTTW PBS Kids this season. But don’t worry there is plenty of time for you to get in on the fun. Whether you come to the Great Food Fan Van (#GFFV) two hour AWESOME Health events, or the Readers are Leaders (#RAL) Playstory Time events you will get the benefit of the Miss Lori’s CAMPUS concert exhuberance and the WTTW PBS Kids community commitment you’ve come to depend on.

  1. Hello Miss. Lori my name is Theresa – I am a parent of a wonderful up and coming literature Chicago public school – Mitchell Elementary. We are hosting a fundraiser at Barnes & Noble in Chicago and I was wondering how your concerts work. Is there a fee – do you donate your time to not-for-profit organizations? The event is October 27th.

    Thank you for your time.
