I purposely have stayed away from the show Toddlers and Tiaras because, well frankly, I know my head would just explode if I watched even one scene. But my friend Kris Cain, aka @LittleTechGirl sent me a press notice about interview availability with Dr Tim Kimmel, of FamilyMatters.net, to talk about protecting girls from negative media influences. Now such a topic is exactly as Kris said in her email to me, “right up my alley”. I am always on my soap box protesting the sexualization of children. Last night during the state of the union address by the President I was particularly moved by his talk about the unified mission of our troops regardless of their race, creed, political affiliation or sexual origin. If you are on social media or listening to any news program, in the Chicagoland area in particular, you have probably heard about the viral youtube video of a 17 year old boy being savagely beaten and robbed by a gang of teens in the Bridgeport area.
