Social Media Influence on consumers is becoming more and more relevant with consumers and not just hype. Which means more influencers will be working with brands than ever before in 2012.  If you haven’t pitched a brand before, chances are you will this year. But before you do that you will need to make sure you know who you are. (Refer to my earlier post about researching yourself here.) Once you know who you are you can formulate a plan for your brand pitch. Here are my six top suggestions to get you going.

Miss Lori says AUTHENTICTY is the key to social media

Last year at the Social Media Master’s Summit, I spoke on a panel with some amazing ladies, Kim Moldofsky, Danielle Smith and Esther Crawford. We spoke in depth about brand and blogger relations. Looking through the footage, one clip jumped out at me. I think it contains a message that is especially important to hear as much of the blogging community prepares to go to Blogher 2011 in San Diego. I can sum it up in one word…AUTHENTICITY. Miss Lori is not a slave to numbers and site stats

If you frequent this site you know that I had a difficult time in Elementary school. I had few friends and experienced frequent bullying. Which is why I threw a lot of parties. Seems crazy. Well, track my 11 year old logic. For the week before my party and a few days after people my classmates were nice’ish to me. Hence why I would throw as many parties as my mom would allow me to get away with.  Now I wasn’t thinking about it like that when I was 11 years old.  I wasn’t fully conscious of why I was doing what I was doing, but that’s not true now.

At age 40 I know the difference, but I am still aware of the phenomenon, no more so than when I look at the site states for my website after a giveaway. [Read more...]

10 things Miss Lori learned about Kmart holiday giveaway

It was easy and always had the thing you needed like school supplies and towels and of course toys! but as an adult I have not been a regular Kmart shopper, especially in since having my kids. Truthfully in recent years I have avoided Kmart stores like the plague, because every time I entered one I found the store to be overwhelmingly disorganized, cluttered and unfriendly. But things are not only looking up they are brighter and more inviting. When I entered the Kmart store on Addison in Chicago I could immediately see a difference. There weren’t carts of merchandise stacked up in the aisles waiting to be restocked. There were instead wide walkways with big bold signs suspended above telling you what you could find in each section. And that was just the beginning of what I discovered. Here is a list of 10 things I learned about this Kmart yesterday: [Read more...]
