Wordless Wednesday: Miss Lori has a stress busting dinner with her daughters
As I wrote earlier this week last week was a particularly stressful week for me. As may parents know, when we are stressed our kids not only know it, they feel it. We try to keep things even and in check for them, but we are human and can’t always get it right. Lucky for me my girls are not only in-tune with me, they also are creative, empathetic problem solvers. Before my stress could completely envelop me they sent me out of the kitchen and took over the preparation of dinner. When I was finally allowed back downstairs I was overwhelmed by their treat. Miss Lori fell off the Mamavation track this week and lost sleep
So, this week was trouble. I was supremely stressed filling out financial aid applications filing corporate taxes, prepping my 2010 taxes, you sense a money theme here? And that is within the recommended guidelines.
Optimal = below 120/80 mmHg
Prehypertension = 120-139/ 80-89 mmHg
Elevated = 140/ 90 mmHg or higher
I know that because I know my numbers. (Which is the first step towards being better.) Now even though I have never experienced a problem, I might be playing Russian roulette here. How will I know? Well I have to rate my risk. Your risk for high blood pressure is calculated by several factors- some that you can control and others that you can’t. [Read more...]
