Miss Lori says AUTHENTICTY is the key to social media
Last year at the Social Media Master’s Summit, I spoke on a panel with some amazing ladies, Kim Moldofsky, Danielle Smith and Esther Crawford. We spoke in depth about brand and blogger relations. Looking through the footage, one clip jumped out at me. I think it contains a message that is especially important to hear as much of the blogging community prepares to go to Blogher 2011 in San Diego. I can sum it up in one word…AUTHENTICITY. Miss Lori is the task on So You Wanna Be A Designer this week
Television and the internet are dominated by reality programming these days. Although, I must admit I don’t watch reality tv on any regular basis. However, this week I am learning about reality shows from the inside out, thanks to my friends at Kenmore. [Read more...]
Miss Lori says one tweet brought opportunity, cars and confidence
Since the beginning of the year I have had the great fortune of driving several new cars on demo for a week at a time, sometimes two. Five cars to date to be exact. I was not contracted to do it though. This was an arrangement born from a tweet. One single tweet of distress. (Say What?!) [Read more...]
Miss Lori offers five suggestions for a tweetup without wifi
I have written about how to throw an AWESOME social media event, but that was predicated on having ample wifi. But what do you do when you want to hold a social media inspired event at a location that doesn’t have a good signal or any signal at all available? That is a problem some facilities are struggling with. Most businesses, particularly vacation businesses, understand the need to be in the social media webisphere, but some structures haven’t been able to catch up technologically just yet. Does that mean that they should stay out of the tweet up business? Not necessarily. You just have to be a little creative with your set up. Here’s a list of my top 5 suggestions: [Read more...]
Clever Girl Miss Lori names her 5 fab bloggers for Trop50
Thanks to Trop 50 for sponsoring my writing about fabulous bloggers. This year Trop50 is granting 50 fabulous wishes. Click here to enter for a chance to win $1,000 to help grant a friend’s wish!
It’s one thing to talk about things you love, it’s even better to talk about people you love, and respect. Thanks to Clever Girls Collective I am getting to do both today. I love blogging, and I love bloggers, but for this post I need to highlight only five of my favorites. What a daunting, “Sophie’s Choice” kind of a task. When I sat down at the computer to write this post I realized that though I have many, many, many favored bloggers, I don’t get a chance to read a lot of blogs consistently. However, I can’t help but read these five when I have a free moment. They are worth the time. [Read more...]
Miss Lori wants to be the first Mamavation Success story for 2011
When I was young all I ever truly wanted to be was a mother. Not a famous actress, not a multi-million dollar business woman, a MOM. I thought, and still think, it’s the most important and rewarding role I could ever play. I am proud to be a mother three times over. I thank the universe every day that I have the chance to help my kids chart their course in this World. I try to do everything I can for them, and I do. Well almost everything.
Miss Lori has a list of 75 twitter thank you’s on the last FollowFriday of 2010
2010 has been quite a year for me, with serious highs and lows. But through it all I have had some fantastic, inspiring, hard working company. On this very special, final Follow Friday of 2010 I want to acknowledge some people who I think you should take notice of. [Read more...]
Miss Lori is not a slave to numbers and site stats
If you frequent this site you know that I had a difficult time in Elementary school. I had few friends and experienced frequent bullying. Which is why I threw a lot of parties. Seems crazy. Well, track my 11 year old logic. For the week before my party and a few days after people my classmates were nice’ish to me. Hence why I would throw as many parties as my mom would allow me to get away with. Now I wasn’t thinking about it like that when I was 11 years old. I wasn’t fully conscious of why I was doing what I was doing, but that’s not true now.
At age 40 I know the difference, but I am still aware of the phenomenon, no more so than when I look at the site states for my website after a giveaway. [Read more...]
