Today I am giving a media training presentation and workshop at the inaugural Pitch Refinery Conference (#MissLoriTV). Media training has become increasingly important in this climate of invention and entrepreneurship. Social Media is a great equalizer allowing the individual proprietor to reach a community as easily as a big brand does without being hampered by a small promo and advertising budget. But before you get to the stage of requiring media training to support your brand you first have to birth an idea. I always joke that I have one good idea a day when anyone comments that something I have offered is “inspired”. There is a hot discussion taking place on the web all about whether or not Facebook should open it’s platform to children younger than thirteen. As a mother of a 14, an 11 and a 9 year old I definitely have some skin in this game. I have given this topic a lot of thought and I feel very passionate about my position.
